Hair loss after pregnancy

For the women who have experienced pregnancy, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing your child for the first time after those painfully long nine months, right?  It is all fun and games until the postpartum kicks in with the disrespectful hormonal changes. It can be the darkest time in one’s life, but the most important part is you are not alone!

My edges have fallen out after childbirth! HELP ME,”said Atlanta Housewife Porsha Williams. The star hacked into her baby girl Pilar Jhena Mckinley’s Instagrama couple of days ago to bring to light her postpartum experience. The new mom posed in her post with a slight frown on her face as she continues to have high hopes that she will receive words of wisdom and support from the many mothers that follow her on social media.

Hair loss is common after pregnancy due to hormonal imbalances, but don’t worry! For most women, hair will grow back between four to six weeks after the baby is born. I know that doesn’t make the daily struggle easier, but the best news is it gives you the opportunity to be more creative with your look! Throw that wig on (or wear your natural hair) and enjoy your day, girl! You deserve the world!

A few other things to consider as an alternative for postpartum hair loss:

  1. Use volume shampoos
  2. Get blunt hair cut
  3. Wear softer hair styles
  4. Eat lots of proteins or put them in your hair. Many women have seen luck from eggs as a shampoo.
  5. Consider biotin or other rich supplements for your hair.

Otherwise continue being an amazing mom and enjoy that beautiful blessing you brought into the world!
