Lil Wayne sues Co-founder of Cash Money’s Birdman

Lil Wayne has not changed his mind about removing himself from the record label, Cash Money. According to recent reports, the withholding of his most recent studio effort, Tha Carter V, seems to be what initiated the whole dispute. There’s an alleged $8 million advance that Lil’ Wayne was supposed to receive for the album that Birdman insists will be released “in due time”.

Lil’ Wayne says he will continue to release music outside of the label. He’s been pretty vocal about the breakdown during live performances, through social media, and on Sorry For The Wait 2 in which he appears to remind Birdman that the success of the label is all due to his work.
