We have to thank Angie Martinez, the voice of New York for helping us bring Latin food back to the table in a healthy way. In her recent health blog and cookbook #healthylatineating with Angelo Sosa, she shares her sabor(flavor). Angie Martinez took tips on ways to cook healthy spanish food from the many Latin celebrities we know! Former co-host on Hot 97, Dj Enuff shares his turkey picadillo recipe. We gave it a stab and since we’re not meat eaters at my house, we tried it with soy crumbles and added some white rice(after all, you’re not puerto rican without rice).

With a few minor differences, Dj Enuff’s recipe is on the left and ours is on the right!

soy crumbles

sliced tomatoes

lightly seasoned with adobo

chopped garlic

chopped onion

thyme leaves

y un poco de azucar ( and a little bit of sugar)
