Food is fuel

Good day Mancavers!

I’ve been feeling a tad bit under the weather lately and can’t seem to shake it off. There seems to be something going around because I’ve been receiving a lot of inquiries as to what to do. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, if you take care of “you” then you’ll be much better in the long run. You see eating is not just about taste and feeling good after a fulfilling dish, although, yes, it feels amazing for the few minutes afterwards and regretful at the end of the night. Food is fuel. Comparing it to your cars engine, what you put inside is what you get in performance. Relevant to what you consume will equal how you feel and perform with everyday. I’m not saying everyday has to be perfect, but 9 of 10 meals better be on par with good practices.

Ask yourself these particular questions, what sub par meal have I consumed in the past 3 days?
How has my body felt immediately afterwards?
How has my thought process been since those sub par meals were eaten?

All aforementioned questions are thought processes to enable you to think about how to improve your own philosophy.

Now with winter approaching fast and day light burning quick, it is imperative to take care of yourself more than ever.
Listen to your body, take a few moments everyday and listen to what it is asking.

In light of this process, today I thought hard and came up with a simple answer. Orange juice. Not just buying some over priced processed juice in the store, full of added sugar, but because the benefits aren’t plenty and the end result won’t need much. I bought a huge bag of oranges, on sale, and raced home.

Today, I was going to freshly squeeze my own juice. Now this does 2 things:

#1. It brings you back to the feeling of, “the fruits of our labor.” Remember, there is no greater satisfaction then creating your own food and self absorbing the goodness it brings to your heart, health, and happiness.

#2. This is science. Immediately after working for something and enjoying the results is so satisfactory that it is difficult to find a replacement. Knowing where your prepped food came from and acknowledging the fact that it was made by you, gives it a better taste.

Grab yourself a juice press at any local restaurant supply, supermarket, or go online and order one. You do not need to purchase anything electrical for this. This is about small steps and personal accomplishments for your own self.

Have fun with juicing and experiment the F out of it. Leave comments below and as always thank you for your support.

Bam, Boom, and Voilá !
