Like Mother Like Daughter : Maria Menounos Battles Brain Tumor While caring for her Mother who suffers from the same thing!

Entertainment news reporter Maria Menounos announces her departure from E! News after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Menounos has been with the long time running news show for the last 3 years. She recently shared her story of how she found out she had a brain tumor and what it meant for her and her family. Menounos told People Magazine that a golf-ball-sized benign tumor was discovered back in February 2017 and she recently underwent surgery to get it removed. The doctors were able to remove 99.9 percent of the tumor during her seven-hour procedure that took place on June 8th. Although the majority of the tumor was removed, there’s still a small chance of it returning. Menounos is now recovering at home with her family and focusing on taking care of her mother who has been battling stage-four brain cancer. Menounos shared a lengthy heartfelt post on her Instagram this week updating her fans on her condition. She thanked everyone for their support and ensures them that she is just fine. Luckily for Menounous, she was diagnosed early enough to take care of her tumor, unfortunately for some people it doesn’t always work out that way. There are specific signs to look for when it comes to discovering brain tumors.

According to Cancercenter.com, there are several factors when discovering if you have brain cancer including the tumor type, size, location and extents, as well as age and health history. Some of the commons signs to pay attention to are, constant headaches, weakness, numbness, nausea, vommitting or seizures. If ever you feel any of the symptoms listed then it is imperative to visit your doctor. Timing is everything when it comes to any type of health issues, the sooner you’re diagnosed the better the chances are. When it comes to caring for a family member dealing with any kind of health ailments it’s always important to read up on what it is they’re dealing with. The best thing anyone can do is be supportive, as we’ve seen in Maria Menounous case. She not only had to deal with her own health issues but she is now caring for her mother.

In any health scare the best thing to do is consult with your physician, research the disease, watch your diet or other factors that can contribute to the growth of the disease. You have to try not to stress about your condition as stress can worsen your situation.  Praying for the best outcome is always your best bet.
