Adjusting as a new mom

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle  just welcomed their new baby at home and are still getting acclimated. As duty calls Prince Harry has fulfilled some of his appearances outside of the home already. However Megan Markel has been getting adjusted to new mom life at home.

Many women and parents in general take a while to get a custom to being new parents. One of the things that we must remember is that we need to take it back and dial it down a couple of notches. When you have a baby it’s almost like starting from scratch. You have to go for a small wins and take it easy on yourself and of course let nature take it’s course. Adjusting as a new mom can have its challenges.

1. Try to bring the baby out with you to run errands. Don’t be afraid to get out with the baby once doctor says it’s OK. Many women become secluded and isolated in their own home and don’t realize that it is OK to go outside with the baby.

2.  Don’t be afraid to make exceptions. Many people will put pressure on you to keep the baby in a routine as far as bedtime and baths and eating. However the scheduling can really drive you crazy and it will be a lot of responsibility to manage. So don’t worry if you miss a feeding or miss a strict bedtime, it is OK.

3. Accept the fact that you are a new mom now and you have new responsibilities. Don’t be too hard on yourself and again let nature take it’s course. Often times moms will try to resist the fact that this is their new life. It is all about accepting the life we have chose for ourselves and our kids. Because after all, being a mom is a beautiful gift!
