The Myth behind the Money

So… you go your paycheck again right… but wait you spent all of it. Why did you do that?

I was hoping you would have a little bit left over so that I could borrow some from you…lol! Just kidding… but here is the reality behind this semi funny statement. If it was a full know you on your butt kind of joke please leave a comment and let me know, is that you probably did get your paycheck and spend it as well.

The reality is that this is probably what usually happens. But Why? Why did you spend your entire paycheck? Why didn’t you budget and pay some to yourself first then take care of your bills and then use the extra to maybe treat yourself or treat the kids or your significant other? I’m asking a lot of questions I know but if you are patient now I will go over why these questions are so important.

Here is a why you didn’t budget… it’s because no one wants you to yet and also because it’s not important enough for you to do it as of yet. And what’s the myth behind the money you ask… and why are these questions significant to it?

It is simple… The Myth behind the money is that, “Money is too complicated and knowing too much about money might cause you to lose it”.

This is the reason that everyone is such a great spender. It’s the one thing we are encouraged to do the most with money. The down side of this money myth is first that it is taken seriously unconsciously and that as long as you buy into this myth that money is too complicated to learn about money in the form of wealth will always elude you.

Here are a few tips to break the money myth cycle:

  • Dealing with money is not complicated

It’s simple. Just don’t spend all your money. If your friends go to the bar every week and you do as well take a couple of weeks off and pay yourself that $150 dollars you buy in drinks for yourself and your friends. Similarly if shopping is more of an addiction than a necessity, ladies, take a couple of weeks off and see the difference it makes in your bank account.

  • Find out about money

In large part money is a means to an end. It helps you get things you need and want. But, when used wisely money can also help you get things that make a significant impact in the lives of others. For instance when your children grow up if they have college accounts to pay for school they will not get into debt and have to work themselves out of it for the 20 years after they graduate. It makes quite a difference when you make your money work for you instead of you working for your money all your life. Find out how to make money work for you and then you have figured out how to have the freedoms that you really want like vacations more than once a year and no more “Staycations”.

  • Money Isn’t Scary

Losing money should not be scary to you because you lose it when you spend it anyway. Also knowing how money works is something that you should want to find out because there’s truth behind it. That truth is that money isn’t just used for buying stuff and paying bills. Its time for you to find out what the major uses of money are.

It is time to find out what money and its real purpose is. But, before we get into all that just know that when money is in your possession think about spending it last. I promise you will thank yourself later.
