Sodium is an essential nutrient required by the body for maintaining proper blood pressure. Over-consumption of sodium is far more common and can lead to high blood pressure which in turn leads to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. Make sure you read labels and are not in-taking too much sodium then your body needs. Here are the foods that have way too much, you’ll probably want to stay away from.

1. Sauces and dressing
2. Meats and fishes (depending how it’s seasoned)
3. Cheeses
4. Pickles
5. Ramen noodles and other instant soups
6. Salted nuts and seeds
7. Pretzels
8. Fast food (fries, eggs, burgers) are all loaded with sodium
9. Canned veggies
